Scam Warning: Don’t Fall for These Fake Court Ticket Texts

There’s a new scam out there that we want to make you aware about. People have been receiving text messages of a document that suggests that you have an outstanding ticket in Fulton County State Court. The document looks very official. It includes a case number. It includes a date and time that you are expected to be in court. But conveniently, it also includes a QR code that if you scan, you can supposedly pay the fine ahead of time and not have to go to court. It is a scam. The courts do not have your cell phone number. You are not gonna receive notice via text of an outstanding ticket or of a court hearing date. If you get a legitimate ticket, you’re gonna receive it in the mail or you’re gonna receive it in person. If you get something that you’re not sure about and you wanna know if this is a legitimate ticket or not, call our office. We will be more than happy to look it over with you and give you some advice as to whether or not it’s legitimate or if it’s just another one of these scams.
