Recovery Amount: $180,000
We represented a gentleman who was rear-ended by a Georgia State Patrol Trooper. The trooper was speeding in excess of 100 miles per hour at the time of impact. Our client suffered a torn rotator cuff as a result of the collision. The State initially denied the claim, asserting that the trooper was immune from any fault in this collision under the doctrine of Sovereign Immunity. We filed suit in Pickens County, Georgia so that we could conduct our own investigation into the matter. We discovered facts that proved the Trooper was not immune for causing this collision and after the Judge ruled in our favor, the case settled $180,000.
