Billboards with lawyers on them are everywhere. You cannot drive down the road without seeing one. And one of the misleading messages that we often see is that we don’t get paid until you win. That’s misleading because any lawyer who is doing personal injury work and working on what’s called a contingency fee- that’s how it works. These billboards are suggesting to you that those firms are somehow unique, special, and offering you a better deal, and that is just not true. Every case that we handle is on a contingency fee, which means that we don’t get our fee until we’ve actually included the case, whether by judgment, settlement, or otherwise. So don’t fall for those misleading ads that you see on the billboards.
