Many people are surprised to learn that daycares in the state of Georgia are not required to have liability insurance. If you and I get in a car and drive on Georgia’s roads, we have to have car insurance. However, the businesses that are taking care of our most precious among us, our children, are not required to have liability insurance. What that means to you is if your child gets hurt at a daycare, there may not be liability insurance there to cover those medical expenses that your child incurs. There are many daycares that do have liability insurance, and I would encourage you to please make that the first question you ask when you are looking for a daycare to take care of your child.
