The Evidence You Could Lose If You Don’t Act Quickly After an Injury

It’s a very natural thing to want to handle your personal injury claim on your own without the assistance of an attorney. We completely understand that. And if you’re watching this video, chances are you’re smart enough to be able to do it yourself. However, there are certain risks associated with doing it on your own that some people are not aware of. And one of those things is the availability of surveillance camera footage. We are surrounded by video cameras. And if you don’t know how to ask for a business to preserve that video, you run the risk of losing the ability to get it. And what I mean by that is that if you’re involved in a car accident or you have a fall because of a dangerous condition in a business, there’s a very good chance that a video camera has picked up what happened. If you don’t ask for that footage in the appropriate way, that footage is going to be recorded over seven days, maybe 30 days from the date of your injury. That’s why we encourage folks to hire an attorney as early as possible so that kind of evidence can be preserved because it can make a huge difference in the ability to prove your case.
